Finding art again

Mon Oct 5, 2009, 12:16 AM

I found my artistic side again. I'm not sure how I finally found it, but I know I had to do a lot of searching. It disappeared for a while back in 2007, came back to me in 2008, only to depart in the middle of the night just when I got used to it again. Since then it'd visited me now and then but for the most part, I was unsatisfied with the majority of my work.
Perhaps I found it when I freed myself. Maybe I found it the night I put my camera in the fridge around 5 AM and rescued it a few minutes later.
I've been encouraged by friends to get artistic again... and this time, I feel like I finally found it. I feel like I value my art better, now.
Perhaps the environment is finally what I needed.
I've thought a lot about my late photo teacher. Back when I was a freshman, she recommended I look into Mills College - "someday," she told me. Three months into freshman year and she knew.
After I'd settled down after moving in, I turned on my laptop to listen to music. "I'll Be Seeing You" came on, a song I used in a little presentation about Esther Bubley that year. The way everything was at that exact moment, I knew that I ended up in the right place.

I dropped off the shoes in my most recent two pics to get resoled today. Ah, errand running. They'll be ready Tuesday afternoon. It's going to be another city adventure for me. Thank god WestCAT fares are still only $1.75. Stop going up, BART :<.

Oh well. Still cheaper and less aggravating than driving.

I scrapped my plan to go to the city tomorrow (I was going to get my favorite shoes resoled) in favor of getting an overdue followup to a blood test.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of EXCITEMENT! I get to have WATER for dessert now! I get to have WATER FOR BREAKFAST! Isn't that AWESOME? And because I haven't had any food and can't drink milk (for now) I can't even take a painkiller for my teeth!

Ah well. At least I can stage my interpretation of a Martin Margiela dress well with the bandage. I'm going to wait on the "Mad Men" one... I don't think it'd go so well with a bandage. I hope they have fun colors this time around. Last time I went they messed up both of my elbows. Driving home without bending them was fun.

Coming soon! (To be read in an action-movie voice)

Two new deviations
(shwoom)
From a senior internship project that turned out better than expected

(FWOOOOSH)

Nothing, really, actually.

Ok, so I did make two dresses as part of my senior internship. I finished one a week early and speed-made another one. The second one had no instructions, no allowances, nothing. Oh yeah, and it was in french too. But I speak french, so that wasn't a problem. Altering the dang thing was.

I also ended up doodling how I felt after I burped half-chewed tapicoa from my boba tea. Don't drink and drive, kids!

My wisdom teeth are giving me trouble... hence the status. I had two ovarian cysts rupture - one in Sept 08 (my birthday weekend) and one in February 09. Interesting times, that. I got ahold of my camera after getting out of the hospital pumped full of antibiotics and painkillers and just before falling asleep, I took a bunch of pictures.

I don't remember taking them. At all.
